700K+ Jobs lost to NAFTA per EPI estimates
$34T National debt after decades of deficit spending
50 yrs Of broken promises to working-class Michigan

They Hollowed Out the Middle Class

From NAFTA to the 2008 bailouts, Democratic leadership repeatedly chose Wall Street, corporate donors, and globalist trade deals over the working Americans who built this country.

Clinton Era • 1993–2001

NAFTA & Trade Betrayal

  • Clinton signed NAFTA in 1993 after promising to protect American workers. The Economic Policy Institute estimates 682,000 U.S. jobs were lost to Mexico alone.
  • The U.S. auto sector lost 350,000 jobs — a third of the industry — while Mexican auto employment grew 350%.
  • Clinton then normalized trade with China (2000). An estimated 3.5 million U.S. manufacturing jobs vanished in the decade that followed.
  • Michigan and the Rust Belt bore the brunt. Communities that voted Democrat for 50 years were abandoned.
Obama Era • 2009–2017

Wall Street Bailouts, Main Street Austerity

  • The 2009 stimulus spent $787 billion directed heavily toward banks and financial institutions rather than working families.
  • Millions of homeowners lost their homes in the 2008 crash. Zero major Wall Street executives were prosecuted.
  • Dodd-Frank left too-big-to-fail intact. The top 5 banks grew larger after the crisis than before it.
  • Real wages for working-class Americans barely moved during the entire Obama recovery. All productivity gains went to the top 10%.
Biden Era • 2021–2025

Inflation Crisis & Energy Destruction

  • The American Rescue Plan pumped $1.9 trillion into an already-recovering economy, triggering the worst inflation in 40 years.
  • Gas prices hit $5+ per gallon nationally. Home heating costs in Michigan skyrocketed.
  • Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline on Day 1, eliminating 11,000 immediate jobs and declaring war on domestic energy.
  • The Inflation Reduction Act contained $369 billion in climate spending while average families struggled to afford groceries.
Ongoing • All Administrations

Deficit Spending & Debt Bomb

  • Every Democratic administration since Carter has run significant deficits, contributing to a $34+ trillion national debt your children will pay.
  • Social Security insolvency was known for decades. Democrats blocked every structural reform effort.
  • Medicare and Medicaid spending exploded with no long-term solvency plan.
  • Federal programs were designed to create dependency rather than self-sufficiency.

Open Borders, Closed Eyes

Deliberate non-enforcement of immigration law has suppressed working-class wages, strained public services, and allowed drug trafficking to devastate communities like those in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Carter to Biden • Decades of Failure

Wage Suppression Through Policy

  • Illegal immigration surged 54% in the years immediately following NAFTA. Clinton promised NAFTA would curb illegal immigration. It did the opposite.
  • Illegal immigration from Mexico quadrupled from 3 million in 1994 to 12 million by 2007 under Democratic trade and non-enforcement policy.
  • Unchecked illegal labor directly suppresses wages for American workers in construction, agriculture, and service industries.
Biden Era • 2021–2025

Border Collapse & Fentanyl Crisis

  • Biden reversed 94 Trump-era border enforcement actions on Day 1. Border encounters hit record highs every year of his term.
  • Fentanyl poured across the southern border. Over 100,000 Americans died of overdoses annually during Biden’s term.
  • Michigan U.P. communities have been ravaged by drug trafficking tied directly to open-border policy failures.
  • Democratic leaders called border security advocates racists rather than addressing the documented crisis.
Sanctuary Policy • Ongoing

Sanctuary Cities & Public Safety

  • Democratic-run cities adopted sanctuary policies shielding criminal illegal aliens from federal law enforcement.
  • Multiple documented cases of violent crimes committed by individuals who had been deported and released by sanctuary jurisdictions.
  • Public resources in Democratic-run cities were diverted to illegal immigrants while American citizens on waiting lists went without.

The Party That Forgot the Constitution

From 2nd Amendment attacks to weaponizing federal agencies against political opponents, the Democratic Party has repeatedly placed ideology above the Constitution they swore to uphold.

Ongoing • 2nd Amendment

Systematic Assault on the Right to Bear Arms

  • Every major Democratic gun control push has targeted law-abiding citizens while doing nothing about criminal violence.
  • Biden and O’Rourke openly called for mandatory confiscation of commonly owned semi-automatic rifles.
  • Red flag laws championed by Democrats strip due process rights based on accusation rather than conviction.
  • The 2nd Amendment is not negotiable. Democratic leadership treats it as optional.
Obama & Biden Eras

Weaponizing Federal Agencies

  • The IRS under Obama systematically targeted conservative nonprofits for years. No prosecutions followed.
  • The FBI and DOJ were used to surveil a presidential campaign based on a fabricated dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign.
  • The Biden DOJ classified parents at school board meetings as domestic terrorism threats.
  • Social media censorship was coordinated between federal officials and tech platforms, suppressing constitutionally protected speech.
2020–2022

COVID Tyranny & Mandate Overreach

  • Democratic governors shut down churches while leaving liquor stores open, violating the 1st Amendment by executive fiat.
  • Biden’s OSHA vaccine mandate attempted to force vaccination on 80 million private-sector employees. The Supreme Court struck it down.
  • School closures driven by teachers’ union pressure kept kids out of class for over a year. Learning loss data shows devastating generational harm.
  • Democratic donor businesses stayed open. Main Street was locked down and destroyed.
Education Policy • Ongoing

Capture of Public Education

  • The Department of Education under Democratic control pushed ideological curriculum over academic achievement.
  • National reading and math scores declined for decades despite per-pupil spending increases every year.
  • Democrats blocked school choice and charter schools at the behest of teachers’ unions — prioritizing union dues over children.
  • Parents who object to curriculum have been dismissed, mocked, and referred to law enforcement.

What They Did to Michigan

Under Governor Whitmer and decades of Democratic influence in Lansing, Michigan has seen a $9 billion surplus vanish, roads left unrepaired, the Upper Peninsula neglected, and small businesses strangled by executive overreach.

Whitmer Administration • 2019–Present

The $9 Billion Surplus That Disappeared

  • Michigan accumulated a $9 billion budget surplus in 2022–2023. It has been spent. Michigan families have nothing tangible to show for it.
  • Michigan roads remain among the worst in the nation. Whitmer promised to fix the damn roads. They are not fixed.
  • Whitmer signed legislation rolling back right-to-work protections, increasing costs for workers who don’t want union membership.
  • Michigan’s business climate ranking has not meaningfully improved under Whitmer’s economic leadership.
Upper Peninsula • Decades of Neglect

The U.P. Has Been Abandoned

  • U.P. tax revenue flows to Lansing. A fraction returns in services, infrastructure, or investment.
  • Broadband access in rural U.P. communities remains critically inadequate despite years of promises and federal funding availability.
  • Rural hospital capacity and specialist availability have declined under state leadership focused entirely on southeast Michigan.
  • U.P. law enforcement is understaffed. Drug trafficking has exploded in communities systematically defunded at the state level.
COVID Response • 2020–2021

Whitmer’s Unconstitutional Executive Orders

  • Whitmer issued over 200 executive orders during COVID, many without legislative authority.
  • The Michigan Supreme Court ruled her emergency powers unconstitutional. She had governed by executive fiat for months before that ruling.
  • Michigan small businesses were shut down while big-box retailers stayed open. Thousands closed permanently.
  • Whitmer secretly traveled to Florida during the height of her own lockdown restrictions. Rules for thee, not for me.
